my life as an artist

I just had a big beautiful show in Westport, CT at Rockwell Gallery. I had spent a month framing and had chosen some new and varied frames, I framed some monotypes in boxes which had an unusual look. I sold one picture. It was a real disapointment. Today we had to truck everything back and find a place to store it all. I guess I will take the stuff to Florida next winter and decorate that house with it.
I have found that not only do I have to know how to do good, valuable, original artwork but I have to frame it, market it, put it up, put it down. I have to know about archival quality papers, inks and framing materials... Then I have to take pictures of it, film or digital?, edit it, learn Photoshop, Quark... etc. That doesn'tt leave much time for my studio. I also have to manage the rest of my life: groceries, laundry, ironing, bills, weeding, mending......and I am supposed to exercise somewhere in there, are you kidding? I have gone up and down the stairs three hundred and nine seven times and the day is not done. I still have to make a gourmet dinner.
What happened to my beautiful life as an artist?
